The Matthew Ministry exists to promote and advance the Christian faith, primarily by providing residential property for church workers in and around the city of Cambridge. We enable churches to focus on ministry rather than being responsible for assets and we also provide long term security of housing in suitable locations. We will also consider holding smaller assets such as AV and catering equipment where this enables gospel work.
Our name derives from the great commission that Jesus gave to His disciples after His resurrection, as recorded by Matthew in his gospel:
"Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’" (Matthew chapter 28, verses 18-20).
Because Jesus rose from the dead, He is alive today, and His command to make disciples remains as valid and as vital as ever, together with His joyous promise to be with us as we do so.
At the Matthew Ministry, we long for everyone to come to know Jesus personally as their Saviour, Lord and Friend. He is God's one and only Son who offers hope and forgiveness to all who receive Him. Here is a short video to introduce Him, from our friends at Christianity Explored:
